Jug Handle Creek Farm
Jug Handle, offers people of all backgrounds the opportunity to connect with the natural world. They engage in nature stewardship, restoration, and preservation projects throughout Mendocino County. Jug Handle Creek Farm and the Jug Handle State Park Reserve were saved from development by a nonprofit called the California Institute of Man in Nature, a precursor to Jug Handle Creek Farm.
Mendocino Coast Cyclists
The Mendocino Coast Cyclists are a 5013C Mountain Bike Club. MCC diligently maintains and sustainably expands the trail system in Jackson Demonstration State Forest. Trails range from fantastically narrow ribbons weaving between colossal redwood trees and ferns the size of VW Bugs to well-worn fire roads crisscrossing the land, making loops of any mileage and skill level possible.
Mendocino Trail Stewards
The Mendocino Trail Stewards advocate for the people's forest of Mendocino County, Jackson Demonstration State Forest. Like those found in Jackson, second-growth redwood forests are one of the world's best carbon-sequestering ecosystems. The climate emergency is real, and the Trail Stewards do not believe logging redwoods for profit is an appropriate use of public lands.
